I had chalk boards in the three primary schools that I went to until I was like 10 and they started getting white boards then and in secondary school there was a mixture of chalk and whiteboards, they just started getting interactive ones in like my last two years of secondary school. So I've had all three basically.

in primary school interactive boards came about yr 5
in secondary they used both interactive and white
and my college is so poor they use a projector on a normal white board

..they're just basically large whiteboards, which the laptop screen is projected onto..we've had them for around 7 or so years now...but we're panning on changing over to ipads instead...a lot of schools are..technology...there's just no stopping it.....understanding it is a bit more complicated though...
