The show is basically replacing Emmett with James Sutton. I will miss Brendan, but i love John Paul ! A Ste/JP relationship would be amazing!

Diane will get a good storyline with her
Spoiler:

getting close to Brendan's abusive dad Seamus.
It is so good that Bryan Kirkwood will make more use of her character and Alex Fletcher, who is a good Actress because Emma really underused her and most of the SL's under her reign involved those pesky teens!

John Paul is going to suck without Craig, the year when it was just him he was awful and became annoying. Putting him with either Brendan or Ste is just going to ruin the character from the start.

But spoilers say he's changed. I think he'll be different from the JP we saw last time. I think a JP/Ste pairing would be very interesting!
