On a serious note, take away the amount of Americans killed by the Mexican drug cartel and that number of amount killed by gun becomes more reasonable.

America's fascination with guns will never go away and I don't necessarily see that as an evil. It's what allowed the coloninsts to get independence from UK rule. It would be the last line of defense against a 1984 society. If the day ever comes when government becomes too oppressive and tyrannical there will at least exist a means of resistance. In the UK if government becomes tyrannical, what can you do? Write angry letters?

America has a much more civilized society compared to Mexico, so not really a good example.
