He didnt hit her.

Yes he lost his temper but you havent even mentioned why. That woman was mocking Heidi in a big way, imporsonating her and taking the p!ss out of her hairspray it seems so dumb but i bet in an environment where they had to sleep in a cave filled with insects and had no food any little thing could wind a person up.
