..I agree that it's not down to gender SH, it's down to the person...I have two sons, both of them incredible people and all of their friends are too..male and female friends that is...of course there are some idiots out there, but those are the ones that you just kind of don't bother with..let them carry on their idiocracy without you, they're very capable....
...this is one guy in your workplace and in that environment you do quite often get people trying to impress...they want to be a 'lad' to other male workmates..they want to look caring and supportive to female colleagues maybe...they're not being themselves really, but they're just trying to impress people...there are females, who do similar stuff as well..it's just that sort of environment where some people feel they have to 'look good' rather than just be themselves...it's their insecurities really, but maybe he's quite young..?...so he might not be all bad really, just a bit silly...and hopefully he'll learn it's not the way to impress people...
...it's also part of life's balance and learning that you have to experience the idiots in life, otherwise you won't recognise the great people when you meet them, because you'll have no gauge to go on...you just have to try to filter them out and the more you meet, the easier that will be, fortunately, in my experience anyway, the better ones far outweigh the idiots....
