It helps us to monitor members and make sure they are not doing stuff they shouldn't be and to see whose wall they may be viewing so we can check for wall posts to see if they are trying to wind a member up or insult them. It's standard forum protocol for most forums to allow mod and admin to see everyone who is online.

There is however this illusion that we can read PM's, we cannot. We can see who you are PM'ing, but we cannot ever read them. Only admin can do that and even then they will only do that in rare circumstances.

No worries. It's nice to be asked questions about TiBB, I actually enjoy it.

I agree that mods should be able to see who's online, but I don't like the function that tells you what people are doing.

Walls have report functions too, so seems a bit minority report to me.

What happens if you have multiple browser tabs open all doing different things? What shows up?

I have actually always wondered this. When I read 'New Posts', I go through all the pages and open all the threads I want to read in new tabs, and then read them all one by one. Which is the one that ends up on the Who's Online list?

Save yourself time and effort and just go to my statistics page to read my posts. It's highly unlikely that there will be anything better elsewhere on the site.

It shows us the most recent location you were at, so if you last came out of a thread in C & G, it would show us you were in C & G.

Ah, I see. I knew there was a decent reason for it but it didn't make sense at first...it's always so obvious when it's pointed out to you LOL.
