A Good Day To Die Hard

It was entertaining, explosions, car chases and shootings. 6/10

Hitchcock

I was slightly disappointed in it, although it was really interesting seeing behind the scenes how movies are made, taking the idea from the script to the screen. 6/10

Cloud Atlas

This story was a real surprise, it was slightly complex. There are layers of stories separated by time, some are hundreds of years apart. The actors play different roles in the different eras, overall although it's long (nearly 3hrs) it's very watchable and rewarding 8/10

Troll Hunter

The best part of the film is one of the Trolls being called " The Tosserlad "

Default Unstoppable (2010)

The train and effects were good, everything else was bad - actors (apart from Denzel), sub-plots, script, etc - I gave up when DW phoned his daughters to say "I love you" then revealed he was on short notice and half-benefits before attempting the train-stop of the century .....

Nope, I did. It's just something I would never want to rewatch.

Spoiler:

I thought it was fascinating at times, and I loved the relationship between Phoenix's character and Hoffman's and the way Adam's tried to exert control over the master.

It also reminded me of the kinda scientology cult, and I guess how it must have started.

I gave it 5 out of 10 just because of the way I felt at the end of it, kinda like everything in life was meaningless.

Yea, I can understand that. It definitely a depressing film. I thought Phoenix was brilliant in it, probably my favorite performance of the year.

I think it was definitely suppose to have parallel to Scientology.

I Give it a Year - I only went to see it because I was meeting a friend and none of the films I wanted to see were on at a time that suited us so I choose this purely because Simon Baker was in it (/shallow) and I really wasn't expecting much from it but I have to say i was very pleasantly surprised, I laughed out loud a lot during it, loved Steve Merchant in it and the humour was very Ricky Gervais/Office-ish - I Give it a 7.5/10

8/10 - One of the best most recent British films, Sean Bean's Character was amazing as well, the lesser known actors in the film were really good, Usually get bored of Crime Thriller's but from Start to Finish this was interesting and in a lot of parts it felt really realistic as well

Spoiler:

Was pretty surprised with the Twists as well, didn't really predict any of them

8.5/10 - Adrien Brody with his best Acting performance since The Pianist ( not really that hard actually since every movie he has been in since The Pianist has been awful ) but he was Amazing in this, suited the role really well and James Caan played a really good character as well, it's a pretty downbeat movie but the actual story of him forming relationships with other teachers and his Students is well done

There was some very un-Bond about it. I get that it was all about M's story etc. the Bond girl wasn't much of a focus this time and the gadgets where are the gadgets. But I still really really liked it

Beasts of the Southern Wild - 8/10. Quvenzhané Wallis was absolutely phenomenal. For a little kid like that to play a role so convincingly really shows that she has serious talent. I mean some parts of the film I didn't understand, but in general I loved it. The final scenes with Hushpuppy and her Dad were just so horribly sad though.

4/10 - First half of the movie was really slow and didn't seem to be going anywhere but it picked up the last hour or so and gradually improved and the ending was done well but apart from that there could have been major improvements to the story and the cast didn't really do it many favors really either, Taylor Kitsch is a great Actor but he wasn't suited to the role at all and Lynn Collins is a terrible Actress ( haven't really seen her in anything else before this and i'm not surprised )i can see why it flopped pretty badly, it could have been a much better film then it was with the right Casting and a better Story, you'll probably enjoy it more if you just watch the last hour because more then likely you will end up switching it off or falling asleep in the first half

Skyfall.

Not really a Bond fan but really enjoyed this. Although it was great, it could have been better. The end felt rushed and Silva didn't really get all that much screentime.

They could have cut some of the padding from the first half. It was like they took their time slowly building the story up and then ran out of time to give the ending justice.
