Comedian Jimmy Tarbuck has been arrested in connection with a historical child sex abuse investigation.

Maybe because, as in all other cases, and as I repeat constantly, he is innocent until he is proven guilty. This information is not in the public interest, it's published only so that people preoccupied with salacious gossip can have a good old chat about how scandalous it all is.

If they're going to release the names of people BEFORE they are tried and convicted, then why don't they also release the names of the accusers? Seems a little unfair to me. Or... they could leave the release of such information until after they're found guilty and save ruining people's lives.

100% agree with livia...........why not keep the accused anonymous until the court case? this destroys lives for those falsely accused and their families get hurt too

he did nothing wrong,

I think they release the names of the suspects in the hope that other people come forward with similar allegations so some degree of collaboration can be established.

As a result of this the CPS can decide whether they have a better chance of a prosecution and can then arrest,interview,charge etc.....

I think this is how Stuart Hall was undone......!!!
