I know I'm rambling a bit but I think the whole concept is tired now and it's not surprising that the celebrity judges are leaving these shows because it does more harm than good to their careers to be associated with these programs.

Not true. Clay Aitken, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Katherine McPhee, Eliot Yamin , Kellie Pickler, Jordin Spark. In Hudson and Underwood they have two genuine worldwide mega stars while the others are all reasonably successful.
