Even though there is still 6 housemates to go is anybody a little bit surprised the house is so white?

Sad about the hints they gave us for the next housemates, I was hoping so hard that Annette Edwards & Miss Ticia the african queen with a french accent would be included

I'd rather they chose housemates based on personality rather than "Oh, they're black, stick them in to conform to some PC quota".

Yup this is my opinion too.

I dont see why they should have a virtual checklist box of minorities..

EVERYTHING about the selection process should be about personality and how good a housemate the person would be. To select some on personality then say 'oh well X was ok, but Y was better, however X is a minority of some kind, lets pick them to be diverse' is ridiculous

Anyway, more housemates to go in tomorrow.

And the legitimate answer is Britain is a predominantly white country. So odds are when you stick 10 people in a house out of 60+ million they're most likely to be white.

My problem is that we cant have a sensible discussion about this issue on this forum.

There's also a thread on this on Ds and if you ignore the jokes there are some sensible comments. There certainly isnt the defensive stance that many on here take. Sad.

Then start a sensible discussion on the topic and forum members will oblige.

But members starting threads saying viewers are racist or questioning why there aren't black people in the house as though it's a requirement will get a defensive response.

There have been sensible discussion that have all turned to sh*t . During BB8 when a contestant called another the n word this place went into meltdown. There were about half a dozen people perm banned over a couple of days. The comments were disgusting and I dont intend to go thru that again. I dont think there can be a sensible discussion on this subject on this forum.

I do however think its legitimate question that given the 100's of thousands of applicants no black applicant made the final cut.
