The article, however, does indeed place the low income regions, Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean and South-East Asia, at the top of the list (above 30%) with the Americas just under (29.8%)


Religion is not included, but, AFAIK, Southern Africa is predominantly Christian, as are the Americas.
