Not really. I have loved housemates who are nothing like me like Rex and Aisleyne.
Sometimes people I hate at the start begin to grow to on me like Charley, but only because I begin to find them funny or because I see a softer side to them. I thought that would happen with Sallie this year, but during that eviction night I actually felt disgusted by her and was glad she was gone. I like Gina and I liked Ben Duncan too despite not being like them at all when it comes to wealth and privileges. However I found Ben hilarious, I also find Gina amusing and think she has a very kind heart. Kindness is one thing that will draw me to a housemate. If I see a housemate show compassion or an attempt of friendship to another housemate in some way, particularly if it is towards a housemate that they don't usually get along with, or a housemate who is not that popular. Then they will shoot up in my estimations. I'm beginning to like Callum more and more. I liked Dan at the start when he split the girls apart in a lighthearted way by twirling Gina around, and also how he tried to talk sense to her in a calm way. He also seemed very down to earth and "normal". He is starting to grate on me a bit now though, because whilst he does have perfectly valid arguments with people, he does have a very patronising and arrogant tone to his voice and it's starting to irritate me. I also watched a clip last night of him talking to Jackie in the garden, and the way he kept calling her back with his finger up saying "come here now Jackie" in a really authoritative voice bugged me. It wasn't said in an argumentative way they were more in a playful mood, but he still just sounded very bossy to me to a woman who is his senior. He's becoming a bit too moany. I don't strongly dislike him though, just hope he chills out a bit again. TLDR; So overall, no, housemates don't necessary have to be similar to myself or my friends for me to grow to really like them. (but sometimes they are) Last edited by Pink Pegasus; 22-06-2013 at 01:36 PM. |
