Anyone who five years on sees GTA IV as anything less than brilliant probably needs a good sit down. It's got it's boring bits and suffers from repetitive mission structuring and some dull conventions but on the whole it's a living, breathing work of art that is fun as hell to play and holds up quite well all these years on with repeat playthroughs.
It's not as fun as Saints Row 2, which for me really captured the zeitgeist of the time when everyone gave IV the inevitable backlash but oddly this only seemed to come full form for most people with the awful follow up that had annoying enemy encounters, worse customization options a nonsense story and quite possibly the most uninspired map in the history of a free roaming game. It made True Crime : Streets Of L.A. look inspired for christ sake.
Saints Row The Third is essentially what happens when the company behind a slightly funny television commercial realise that they have a slightly funny television commercial and then use their creative dicks to drill it into the ground.
So GTA, basically. How could you not. It's GTA.
Oh and the code is :
SA > III > IV > VC
The Stories and Episodes chapters are all terrific.
