There's another reality tv show I watch called Survivor, people form alliances in that and one of the way some players use to see if some one is being loyal to them, is to ask them to swear on the likes of their child's life. I've seen moms do it as well as roguish guys. So I see it as just a tactic some people use in games like this.

Now if those words had some magic meaning, that something would happen once he said them, well then I think he should be arrested. However they're just words, we no meaning other than the ones with give them.[/QUOTE
