Oh, you lucky person. I didn't realise you can overcome allergies.

Neither did I until my granny developed an allergy to strawberries and then one day she was no longer allergic to them. I've no idea how she knew she wasn't allergic to them anymore though, surely if you were allergic to something you wouldn't be buying it and testing your body to see if it was over it yet

Thankfully I don't have any food intolerances, I thought I maybe had lactose or gluten intolerance for a while but it was just the lasting after effects of Norovirus (gross, haha)

I think it's really ignorant when people scoff at those who are Coeliac, my sister has it. it's a serious condition.
Here is some information ...

Yeah I didn't realise how serious it was until I thought I had it and Googled symptoms, it's potentially life threatening! I think it's just been turned into a joke by people who do these fad diets and insist on not eating any gluten products so people have associated it with pretentious diets rather than serious medical conditions.

Well tbf they cannot eat otherwise. All menus should have a few gluten free and dairy free options.

And they can eat.. it doesn't stop them eating all together, they have a few discomforts afterwards. A lot of our GF customers end up eating something that's not GF (knowingly)..

Some actually have an allergy to these things though so they cannot eat them at all.

You want to be careful with that. If you have served them the food you can be held liable for it and be in a lot of trouble. Similar to serving somebody underage you can be personally held accountable for that also.

We tell them it's not GF and can't be made GF and they choose to it themselves so we can't be liable for their decision when they know the risks.

I don't dispute that but some of my customers know what they're going to eat isn't GF and choose to eat it. I think a lot of people who might be intolerant would love to go out and eat whatever they liked because all restaurants will cater for their every need but it's not the case and most of the time about 70% of the menu can't be made GF. It's something they must have become accustomed to during their lives..

It's really difficult, I had to avoid it for a while for tests and it's really hard... It's everywhere!

Thankfully not, I love yoghurt, milk and cheese far too much.

I'm allergic to dairy products. I take 2 antihistamine tablets a day (on prescription) so it's not too bad but I can't overdo it with dairy products, even so.

Love cheese but it doesn't love me! Lol!
