It can't be easy for Sam as far as getting jobs is concerned. I bet as soon as the majority of prospective employees find out that he's 80+% deaf his chances of getting that job are pretty slim!
Even though employer discrimination is heavily legislated against it's still extremely common because it's so difficult to prove unfortunately.
