No, but unless you are lucky enough to get a diagnosis at an early stage it very much gets you labelled as stupid.

There is still a stigma attached to the condition.

I used to teach adult literacy and many of my students were undiagnosed dyslexics. Many of them self-identified as stupid because they'd been called stupid or thick whilst they were growing up, both by other kids, and by teachers.
