Yeah, when he said 'stay away from Hazel' he meant it literally. 'Stay away, don't harass her, she's going to bring you down' - because he had seen Gina was making an almighty fool of herself.
Instead the silly cow took it that he meant Hazel was hated and to go after her with all guns blazing. The woman is stupidity personified.
