But there are plenty of us who don't like Dexter and his manipulative ways, Sam is the only one who stands up to him and so we respect that, he didn't do much in the first nine weeks because he wasn't part of yet another tedious love triangle (yawn, how original) or involved in any big rows so simply didn't get any coverage.

Dexter declaring his "love" for Charlie out of nowhere and said with zero feeling just to get into said love triangle is one of the reasons those of us without blinkers on have been bored by his sad attempts to manipulate from early on, Sam is the only one in the house who seems to see it and isn't afraid to call him on it (upsetting Dexter fans in the process). He seems the one most reasonable people can relate to.
