My favourite's always been Superman for some reason, but I couldn't really give a decent example as to why.

I suspect spiderman is the biggest money maker on average....whereas batman is probably the biggest grossing.....xmen made a fortune too ....the hulk movies were very disappointing due to the pitifully bad cgi......avengers movie I thought was disappointing and corny....didn't see the shadow? what was that like? superman the original 2 with Christopher reeve were simply epic. best superhero movies ever.....but the recent ones have been awful, again the over use of cgi ruined them...the actual special effects looked far better 30 odd years ago , crazy.

Batman films are the best. I generally find the story behind it way more interesting than others anyway.

the spiderman movies were pretty darn good too....I was pleasantly surprised with how witty and well paced they were and the ginger looked lovely
