Default Lauren's Condition

I was thinking about Lauren's condition last night. It occurred to me that she looks not unlike some little characters I once saw on Jeremy Kyle who have a condition that causes premature aging.

These people weren't on Jeremy Kyle because they needed DNA tests, far from it. They were on because of the rarity of their condition. Let me show you some examples:

I know what you're thinking, but I haven't just done a shoddy photoshop of Lauren. These are genuine people with a genuine genetic disorder which renders them remarkably similar, facially, to Lauren Harries.

I wonder if Lauren has been tested for this condition and if it would be worthwhile forwarding this message/diagnosis to her family and medical consultant? Certainly food for thought.

I'll do some more research and find out if the symptoms of Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome include finding it difficult to use a toilet correctly

I think the premature ageing disease makes people quite short. Lauren is tall and lanky. Very thin though. I think in Lauren's case she might have a dry skin... and God knows what mental troubles she has been through in her life. If she HAS prematurely aged, it is just through a life of troubles. That's what I think anyway

That's true. I'm only a self-taught geneticist and very much an amateur, but I think Lauren's version of the condition has somehow left her 'tall gene' intact whilst degrading the 'toilet gene'

Did you get your PHD off Lauren's mom by any chance?

Self taught geneticist? Are you actually serious or are you just trying to be clever?

Lauren would look much younger if her mother did not dress her for the era she was Lauren's age. All of her clothes are for little old ladies - nothing trendy and always overdressed. There are few times in the BB house where an evening frock is necessary...Lauren's clothes are mostly octogenarian-style with high heels. All these floaty pink nylon type night ensembles and taffeta cocktail dresses...Jeans and Jack Wills shirts and some decent shoes would knock years off her...

It would be nice to think that maybe BB will do one of those makeover thingies for Lauren when CBB is over.

I don't think she suffers from premature ageing. She does suffer from curvature of the spine, and I think she suffers from vitiligo, which causes depigmentation of sections of skin.

I also believe she suffers because some of her family are a bunch of dicks, but she dotes on them.

That would be great for her - if they could straighten her hair and re-style her - I think she would like that and it would show her how she could look with a less old-fashioned way of dressing.

I honestly didn't interpret Deebo's comments as being anything other than a statement of the fact that what they know about genetics has been gleaned from books. I didn't pick up on this 'big-headed' malarkey at all!!!

Yip this is not offensive in any way at all.

You seem to be ignoring the fact that people with progeria are tiny and remain so for their lifetimes. They also barely make it past 13 years of age.

This might just be the single most ridiculous thing I have ever read on the Internet, and probably bordering on illegal.

Lauren could have messed up her body with her 2 suicide attempts. If they were overdoses then it explains the blood shot eyes etc.

Lauren does have an illness called Dyspraxia which had been mentioned on her before.
I googled the info which I have pasted below and could explain why Lauren is very often clumsy:

Developmental dyspraxia is an impairment or immaturity of the organisation of movement. It is an immaturity in the way that the brain processes information, which results in messages not being properly or fully transmitted. The term dyspraxia comes from the word praxis, which means 'doing, acting'. Dyspraxia affects the planning of what to do and how to do it. It is associated with problems of perception, language and thought.

Dyspraxia is thought to affect up to ten per cent of the population and up to two per cent severely. Males are four times more likely to be affected than females. Dyspraxia sometimes runs in families.

Other names for dyspraxia include Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD), Perceptuo-Motor Dysfunction, and Motor Learning Difficulties. It used to be known as Minimal Brain Damage and Clumsy Child Syndrome.
