I get it that most Americans don't have electric kettles, something to do with the voltage... anyhoo, you have to be some kind of freakin' moron to put a stock cube into a kettle, from which you get water for tea and coffee. She isn't as stupid as she makes out, I think it was done for effect.

I doubt she would go out of the way to purposely do that for any sort effect. I think she just did it by accident, she had no hesitation when she did it, which made it clear she didn't think what she was doing was wrong in the slightest.

Plus, it's something I would have done on my first day at cooking in uni to be fair.
