It might make women feel better about themselves to trott out the cliche 'men like real women, men like curves'. The fact is if a Victoria Secret model came their way the so called real women would never see their boyfriends again.

At 34 years of age I am yet to meet a 'model type' who wasnt so self obsessed that they border on narcissistic.

I would take a normal older woman over a 'Victoria secret' model every day of the week. 99% of them are pretty packaging with sod all inside.

Keep telling yourself that all models are self-obsessed dumb and dull. Not a fan of Cara Delevigne and Gisele Bundchen but they has got personality. Cindy Crawford has a science degree and Lily Cole went to Cambridge Uni. But hey all models are dumb and boring, right.

She could have done what anyone else did with a science degree, but modelling took her away. The fact is she's beautiful and smart. Who knows what she could have done. KAty Ireland was a model in 1980s and now has a billion dollar empire.

what annoys me is when an overweight woman describes herself as 'cuddly' or 'curvy' with several rolls of flag eminating from her midriff...

eating kentucky fried chicken for breakfast, lunch and dinner dosen't give you curves it just makes you obese.

It reminds me of the very harsh Karl Lagerfeld comment:

Karl Lagerfeld, the eccentric German fashion designer, has waded into the debate about size-zero models by stating that people prefer to look at "skinny models", and those who do not are "fat mummies".

Lagerfeld, 71, was reacting to the magazine Brigitte's announcement last week that it will in future use "ordinary, realistic" women rather than professional models in its photoshoots. He said the decision by Germany's most popular women's magazine was "absurd" and driven by overweight women who did not like to be reminded of their weight issues.

"These are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly," Lagerfeld said in an interview with Focus magazine. The creative director of the fashion house Chanel added that the world of fashion was all to do "with dreams and illusions, and no one wants to see round women".

Personally felt KL took things too far, but I sort of get the gist of what he says.

As for the magazine, they went back to using models when sales fell through the floor.
