An attractive male could sing Baa Baa ****ing Black Sheep and a 13 year old girl would cream their pants, they're (for the most part) too young to be interested in musical integrity, they just want someone to idolise and have a crush on, that's all part of growing up. This generation isn't the first to go through it and they won't be the last either
Besides, I really don't think there's a lot of 14 - 18ish year old straight guys that wouldn't happily turn up to a recording studio and sing a one-hook-one-verse song that's already been written for them along with some autotune in order for them to go out on stage and have a load of girls their age scream for them to bone them backstage, as well as earning millions, travelling the world and being treated like a superstar. I'm pretty sure he knows his music is crap (and most importantly so do his record label who are laughing all the way to the bank that kids are lapping it up), he's just a brand...but if you can get that kind of lifestyle out of it at his age, you're not really going to turn it down. The problem comes when it eventually crashes and burns, that can have devastating effects psychologically, but I'm not really sure how it can be dealt with. I mean look at Macaulay Culkin a few years back...
None of this makes it right or just btw, that can be argued either way, but this is the kind of world we live in.
