You have to learn that the opposite sex don't think like us, it's all to do with hormones and such. The easiest way of staying out of trouble is not to engage in conversation, practise a few variations of "umm" "erm" said in a positive tone and also in a negative tone then let her speak or rant or whatever and just interject an umm or an erm in the tone that you think will appease her, IF YOU GET THE CHANCE!!
