Default Do you often find it easier talking to people on the internet than in 'real life'....

..just really generally looking around at some of the threads/'reveals'/concerns etc that members post about and I know myself that I sometimes post things and think afterward, wow, where did that come from, I've never even talked to my 'real life' friends about that before...whether it be privately or on the main forum, do you find talking about emotions/personal worries/feelings/dilemmas etc much easier to do on the internet than face to face with your real life friends...?....

Having an internet persona can be easier for people to be more forthcoming with any issues they have in the real world so it's good in that way. I also think it makes people more likely to be aggressive, insulting, argumentative etc too because there is no prospect of facing down the person they are talking to.

Definitely I find it so much easier, but recently I've became reserved about that too, thinking 'everyone will think I'm weird' lol it's stupid.

I find it easier to talk about my innermost thoughts because often when it's something difficult it's easier to take your time to write down words, read them over, rewrite sentences... I have lots of friends I can confide in but sometimes it is just easier to talk to people who are far removed from your day to day existence because they're not going to patronise you and tell you what you think you want to hear, they'll tell you their honest opinions.

Yeah but only because I find it almost impossible to maintain a conversation in real life. Online you have a minute or so to think of a reply making it much easier, which sounds really sad but it's true LOL

Not really.

Pretty much the same online as in real life.

Never had trouble talking to anyone...quite gobby really.

Can be but it can be a bit more awkward in a way, conversation sometimes won't flow as well as a face to face one

I find it easier to talk to my friends in real life but easier to talk to a stranger online.. if you get what I mean.
