By the way the truth, you do realise that modern feminism would be in favour of there being more male teachers. So it's pretty absurd that you mistakenly believe it's somehow at fault here.

The reason no one is fighting for more male teaching positions and that this thread is probably the only place in the whole wide world this is being discussed at this moment in time, is because the jobs are there is men want them. The fact that there are way fewer men in teaching is by their own choice.

Is it a coincidence that the numbers of male teachers fell when it became illegal to pull down boys pants and hit them with sticks?....Discuss

wrong. its not being discussed 1) because feminists and demanders of equality, positive discrimination, equalling the numbers in professions are a bunch of self hypocrites who clearly dont give a toss about whats for the best. they always prattle on about the poor women oppressed and outnumbered yet ignore it when men or even the didsabled are ostracised and become a huge minority
2) because men are not allowed opinions on such issues especially on mainstream tv as the double standards enforced by the feminist agenda mean men aren't allowed an opinion as they will be labelled sexist
3) meanwhile female only short lists of parliament are fine? total hypocrisy and totally undemocratic
4)the primary teaching profession is clearly making male applicants uncomfortable and this should be investigated the it needs to be rectified to encourage more men to apply to help improve our kids education and bring some more males and their unique skills and experience to the schools

the attainment differences are due to socialisation and peer pressure in part.
There is an argument for the benefit of a positive male role model where none exist however.
Why do you feel teaching is not as attractive to men any longer truth?

The problem is that whatever the reasons , probably its a side effect of feminism that tests , competition, sats and areas such as spatial processing and sensori-motor speed have become less part of the syllabus. maleness itself has been devalued and its damaging our kids...we do of course teach our kids male hate with over simplistic feministic biased revisionary versions of history... no wonder theres so much male hate..it starts at nursery school and at primary schools...where it needs to be addressed and rectified to make it more appealing to male teachers.

Wrong spatial processing is evident in maths when dealing with shape, technical drawing and weighing/measuring.
Motor skills are used in ball games, handwriting, playing lnstruments....
History is mostly the war and the tudors, Henry was a real feminist he loved women.

I've read enough on the right/left hemisphere dominance and how they are attributed to male and female gender stereotypes to know this is a crock.

there are less maths tests, less exams, sats scrapped too
incidentally men are generally better at those things on average than women and yet you and other posters claim it doesn't matter there are only 12% male primary teachers? that males don't bring their own unique skills and experiences , that having a more balanced gender mix creates a more balanced education for the kids....yet the same posters would argue that we must have more women in other professions where theyre outnumbered by men? including the boardrooms? total complete and utter hypocrisy and double standards. proves those who make that case are unfair, have an agenda and are basically being dishonest

a) I'd like you to point out in what way I am a "hypocrite"?

b) You're seriously blaming male suicides on the fact they had female teachers? Do you actually read the crap you are typing?

What about female suicides, do we ignore them? Are they trivial to you? Are male teachers to blame for that?

The advent of the literacy and numeracy hours mean kids do more not less than they did.
Boys can only do well in exams if they learn what is being taught that's a fact. They don't do better in exams unless they have retained knowledge, it's not instinctive.
A balance is good yes, however suggesting that students sre failing due to the gender of teachers is not right or fair.
Female teachers achieve the same qualification as their male counterparts, and are equally as competent.

hypocrisy and lies. its proven fact women are generally better at certain things and men better at others. also both genders clearly have different skills and experiences ...the classroom should reflect society and 88% female doesn't reflect anything. actually under 8yrs the number fo male teachers in the US is 2% we simply don't trust men with kids that age. its totally discriminatory. all men should not be punished for the sins of the tiny tiny minority. on the other hand yourself and many supporters of radical feminism and so called equality demand more female mp's and women in the boardroom, even when its not done democratically or meritocratically with women only elections or female only jobs....total brainless anti-democratic hypocrisy.
these femiinists don't care less about equality for men or the disabled. Theyre hate preaching self serving divisive hypocrites.,,,they don't give a damn about education or fairness...this is why the education system has collapsed.
