Default Harry Styles win court order against the paparazzi.

Pop star Harry Styles has won a court order stopping the paparazzi from harassing him.

The 19-year-old One Direction singer applied to the High Court as a last resort after trying to persuade a number of photographers to stop their behaviour voluntarily, according to his counsel David Sherborne.

He told Mrs Justice Nicola Davies, who first granted the order against the unidentified individuals last Monday: "This is not a privacy injunction.

Harry Styles
The order was not aimed at stopping fans taking photos the High Court heard

"Mr Styles is not trying to prevent fans approaching him in the street and taking photos.

"He remains happy to do that, as he always has.

"Rather, it is the method or tactics which have been used by a certain type of photographer."

The injunction against "Paparazzi AAA and others" prevents them from pursuing the singer by car or motorcycle, placing him under surveillance, loitering or waiting within 50 metres of his place of residence to monitor his movements or take photos of him.

Mr Sherborne said the case concerned a number of paparazzi photographers - four of whom were in the process of being identified.

A request had been made to the DVLA seeking the names and addresses of the keepers of the vehicles which were identified as belonging to the four, and a letter had been sent to the photographic agencies which engaged them or used their photos.

The judge continued the injunction until another hearing in the week beginning January 13 which will decide how the action should proceed.

Styles, who performed with his bandmates on The X Factor final at the weekend, did not attend the brief hearing.

If it wasn't for the paps, apart from mostly pre-pubescent girls, no one would know who Harry Styles is. He should be careful what he wishes for... in a couple of years he'll be turning himself inside out trying to get the media to take an interest in him.

Oh fgs Livia, you know that's not true. Appearances at awards shows, TV shows, movie premieres, their music - maybe 1% of their fame has come from pap-shots with rumoured girlfriends. If that. They're huge, and it's not because of the Daily Mail online.

It's due to the ridiculous prices paid for more and more intrusive shots too... they are more fortune hunters than paps?
These mags that we all buy so we are all guilty to a degree, even though we disapprove in theory in practice the voyeurs have caused this.

The people that buy those magazines buy them for the content of the magazines, not the accompanying pictures. I'm sure they'd still read a story about Harry Styles allegedly shagging Taylor Swift if the picture was of him on the red carpet, rather than him climbing out of a taxi or looking out of his bedroom window or whatever. They're glorified stalkers and psychotic paparazzi culture should be shut down. It isn't normal behaviour. They aren't photographers, they're stalkers with cameras. Harry Styles isn't biting the hand that feeds him - he still wants to meet his fans, he doesn't mind having his photo taken - he's drawn the line at having people waiting outside his home, people following him in cars and on motorbikes to wherever he's going, people trying to get into his car, his home... it's not normal.

It's not normal and it's dangerous as well. If someone was doing things like that to an ordinary person they'd be arrested for stalking/harassment, it should be the same for celebrities. Yes to a degree part of their job is losing alot of their privacy but the paparazzi go too far and cross the line

I agree. If a man was standing outside my house taking pictures of me in the safety of my own home, I would be trying to get a restraining order too. Yes, celebrities are people that sell themselves as a product and us everyday people quite like to know things about certain famous people because we find them interesting for whatever reason - but that doesn't give people the right to try and gain access to their homes, take pictures up their skirts, follow them when they go out for dinner, wait for them outside night clubs, set up sting operations to try and incriminate them (e.g. Tulisa)... it's just nasty. I remember watching a documentary about Girls Aloud and there was a paparazzi creeping about their private villa in some foreign country taking pictures of them lying beside the pool - if they were on a public beach then fair enough, but they were at a private villa in a foreign country! Totally unacceptable. The end result is that people look at pictures of them and think "what a bunch of attention seekers, they wanted the paparazzi to photograph them like that" - totally messed up.
