There has been no mention of improvement. The omitting of critical has been based on opinion.

Is that not mistranslation though. "The chances decline the situation is improving" seems contradictory or am I reading it wrong?

..I know how you meant it, Eoin.....it's easy to think that how he is now is what he will be but he may still make a recovery and be able to do lots of things...keep the faith, which I know you will....

That quote sounds pessimistic to me; "“Every day, every week in a coma the chances decline that the situation is improving.”

He's saying that the longer he is in a coma it is less likely that he is getting better?

but like me adding the full stop you added [that].
I will wait until there is no hope before I give up all hope!, and that goes for everything in life not just Michael's situation.

I don't think anyone would think that but if it's a choice between a permanent vegetative state or not, I think most people would feel the same. That is no life for anyone and his families suffering would be endless

Felipe Massa says he is praying for seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher every day.Schumacher, 45, remains in an induced coma after*suffering brain injuries in a skiing accident*on 29 December."Dear Michael, my great friend, you helped me so much in my career, and I pray for you every day," Massa, Schumacher's Ferrari team-mate in 2006, wrote on the manufacturer's website."I want to see you stronger than ever, just as always. I give you a big hug."Schumacher remains in a stable but critical condition in hospital in Grenoble after hitting his head on a rock when skiing at the French Alpine resort of Meribel. His wife Corinna is maintaining a constant bedside vigil and recently issued her thanks for*messages of support,*insisting her husband "is a fighter [who] will not give up".Massa, 32, recently competed in an annual karting race in his native Brazil and wore Schumacher's name on his visor. The pair represented Ferrari during Schumacher's final season in a 10-year spell with the Italian constructor. The German finished second in the driver's championship, behind Fernando Alonso, with Massa in third.

Doctors battling to save the life of Formula One legend Michael Schumacher reportedly have no plans to wake him from the coma.

The seven-time German world champion has been in a medically-induced coma after he suffered severe brain injuries in a French Alps skiing crash in late December.

According to the Mirror, neurosurgeons at the hospital in Grenoble where the former Ferrari racer is being treated have still not revealed any date when they may try to bring him out of the coma, while some experts fear that he may remain in a permanent vegetative state for the rest of his life.

The report mentioned that Schumacher is still classed as critically ill following the December 29 accident when he smashed his skull against a rock while skiing, and medical experts said that the prognosis for a recovery so long after being on life-support machines does not bode well.

The report further said that the medical intention of an induced coma is to decrease the brain's need for oxygen to ease its workload and therefore give it time to recover, although the longer the coma is induced, the bleaker the chances become.

It was the fear of a brain haemorrhage, if Schumacher is awoken, which has made his medical team keep him under, with an expert saying that even if Schumacher wakes up, his memory could be 'wiped out'.
