Would it really hurt a family to learn that their son pretended to be a girl on the internet? It would be embarrassing at most. I hope they had a stern chat with him about what he did outside of the forum though.

You don't know how his family could have reacted, would it have made you happy if his family had disowned him? or his school found out and started bullying him?
