I know someone who pulls the tree out of view of the window and then pulls it back into view the following Christmas

Where you store the tree normally. In the attic or in it's box or whatever.

They must have long curtains to hide it behind?
The cling film is an excellent idea, I like how the tree looks this year I might do this and put it in the loft!

It is my nieces now husband, he lived with his brothers (Mum and Dad both passed away) in the family home which was a bit of a tardis so they room at the front was unused apart from housing the Christmas tree, I think the year before he married my niece he decided to dismantle the tree and put everything away and kicked himself the year after as he had to put it all up again, so those left are back to moving the tree to the side and turning off the lights.

We put our tree away today. Didn't cling film it, despite me showing my mum the picture and her saying it was a good idea

Since we have like a tree in every room down stairs (including a frigging massive 10ft one) this'd be a tad bit impractical for us.
