I've never done anything like that in the UK, I think as far as my family are concerned, beaches are just freezing wastelands in the UK that's what happens when you live really far north...

Speaking of Blackpool, for ages I thought it was down by Portsmouth and Southampton just because everyone talks about the beaches down south and it's a seaside resort, had no idea it was near Manchester even though of course it is and why would it be down south... I think I only really clicked last year
