You could be right, but the guy's shown on numerous occasions that he's not the horrible wanker that the media like to make him out to be - he gave Luisa a pep talk the night she'd argued with Dappy and Lionel; he's laughed and joked with Linda in between scrapping with her etc... he said what he said to Luisa, not Linda, and when he found out that Linda knew what he'd said, he backtracked because he didn't ever intend for her to hear it. He recognised that what he said was wrong, regardless of whether or not he and Linda hate each other, it wasn't fair and he recognised that. It's a bit cynical to think he only tried to apologise and backtracked because of what the public might think, 1) because who does that and 2) because okay he might have been cheered there but he is more than aware that the public know all about his past and consider him to be an arsehole, he was cast as the house villain and it hasn't turned out like that at all until maybe now.
