I think old people get a bit crazy towards the end, They start realizing that they are gonna die soon. People get scared of death. Don't be scared of death.
You didn't exist before you were born and you won't exist when you die. You are just returning to the nothingness from which you came. Nothing to be scared of. Oblivion is our natural state.
