Oh my days totally agree.

No more Sams, Luke A or anyone without a personality. I don't know how these people get through months of auditions without putting the producers into a coma.

There will of course be the 'lad' archetype, they need one every year, snooze

Someone like Makosi is needed.

I personally want a diverse cast and not loads of people from London who know each other (like BB14) or the constant boring twists week after week oh and normal diary room nominations not face to face or friend and family

It really is laughable that at the time people were saying how BB14 was like BB on C4 again, cast and production wise. Iit was the series least like C4 ffs

I think it's funny how in BB14 they were all out saying there would be a diverse age range.. there was one 40+ HM

If the BB13 cast had been in BB14 with the twists and themes instead, I guarantee it would've been borderline Golden series (BB5/BB6/BB7).

It already is a golden series for me and I prefer it without the constant twists, I couldn't imagine the BB13 lot having the safe house most weeks tbh it would just be awful imagine Deana and Conor together or Luke A and Caroline, no doubt entertaining but uncomfortable

I think something BB14 lacked was storyline;s which BB13 did amazingly well with insiders vs outsiders, the main story was 'Gina and Dexter are underdogs' and a few rivlaries and the stupid triangle.

At least its original but I dont like how manipulated it sounds, for me a true social experiment should be a variety of people from different backgrounds and with different values of course but not deliberate so. Needs less people who all say how many women they sleep with or how they get their own way thanks to looks.

Channel 5 needs to be more ballier for one as half the stuff they are calling out as 'ofeensive' or 'racist' is just to cover their own backs in case of a backlash.

I've found someone on the forums that actually agrees Jemima should have stayed, she made week two much like Sallie made week one and they were both throw out. It wasnt good at the time and certainly wont age well either

Still will be the same because people will say they believe in something and not stand up for it and it always happens in any situation. There's always the dominant people and some people get left behind and become more quiet.

This concept is extreme but would surely produce the most controversial Civilian Big Brother in a decade.

Are Channel 5 brave enough to do it?

This is a long read but I promise you its a good one if I say so myself. I would love to hear feedback.

So here's the deal

Every housemate will have to live with someone who's values and beliefs in life are highly different to each other.

Wether it be religion, the colour of someone's skin or sexuality no subject should be off the table and it should be uncensored, every little nip slip, racist, religious, homophobic remark should all be left to play out without BB intervening. Nothing is taboo.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's the casting idea

Lets turn things on their head.

Housemate 1: A devout immigrant muslim with a serious bigoted opnion towards the western worlds morals and habits/culture. Its time to see racist attitudes from both sides seeing as we never see white people racially abused when it happens everywhere.

Housemate 2: A white possible Christian girl who thinks immigrants are whats wrong with this country and has a very narrow minded opinion on the muslim community. She is also very bigoted. Lets see who wins in the ever lasting racist row.

Housemate 3: Something we have never seen before a gay guy who is heterophobic and will only associate with his own kind. He supports gay marriage and is passionate about campaigning gay rights. He has a chip on his shoulder and is as stubborn and argumentative as as hell.

Housemate 3/4: A boy and a girl who are very offended by gay people and think their lives are wrong/un natural. They absolutely disagree with gay marriage and rights.

Housemate 5: A homewrecker, someone who broke up a marriage.

Housemate 6: The person who was the victim in that marriage break up.

Housemate 7: A Bulgarin immigrant who is currently being accused of stealing our jobs.

Housemate 8: A man who has recently been made redundant and feels its to do with immigrants taking all the jobs. This man should be unemployed still and be very opinionated.

Housemate 9: A lesbian who loves pretty straight girls and is totally open about it. She has a potty mouth and talks non stop about sex.

Housemate 10: A pretty girl who has led a bit of a sheltered life, she has never met a lesbian in her life. She dislikes people who have had a lot of sexual encounters and wont tolerate repulsive sexual talk.

Housemate 11: A sexist who believes women should not be allowed to have the same rights as men.

Housemate 12: An extreme femmenist whos arch nemesis is any sexist man.

Housemate 13: Someone who comes from a strict amish background who has never had sex or drunk alcohol.

Housemate 14: A very seductive genuinely bisexual gorgeous party girl who loves nothing more than partying, sex and alcohol.

Housemate 15: A tattoed, chav who comes from a very harsh upbringing. She is not on the dole, she is a single mother and has to work her arse off to make ends meet.

Housemate 16: This is housemates 15th father who she hasn't seen since she was a toddler. He will be introduced on day 3 just as everyone is settling down ("Yeah Jackie") and she gets to decide if he becomes a housemate or gets her revenge by kicking him out on his arse come Fridays eviction.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could this bring BB back to an actual social experiment?

Yes this will cause alot of drama, offensive uncomfortable viewing but by the end of the series the housemates and the general public could learn a bit more about the subjects and watch them talk open and honestly about their feelings to resolve these issues instead of BB having to call the housemates involved to the diary room incase they are about to say something slightly offensive.

The Ofcom crew complaining at the first opportunity don't realise is that allowing the public to watch real issues happening can only do good as it will cause serious debates around the country and people could actually become more tolerant of people who are different from them and learn about different attitudes towards different cultures and serious issues. The constant complaints about racism/sexism ect is doing more harm than good we need it to play out so we can watch human nature and how good can come from bad situations.

Yes it would appear a manic cast from hell but as the show grows I think it could be one of the deepest darkest yet inspiring ones to date.

Go on Channel 5 just go for it, **** Ofcom and hope for the best from critics, these last 2 series have pushed the boundaries and with something so out there like this we could be looking at the first Channel 5 Civilian BB to average over 2 million.

This would be the only way to get BB back to the social experiment it once was aswell by casting people with real beliefs and issues.

So, whats your thoughts?
you honestly think last year's theme was THAT good and this is the only way it can be topped?

way too extreme anyway, I wanna be able to enjoy big brother too. and there is no way in hell they can find 16 people that match all these profiles, and if they do the chance of them all being willing is pretty unlikely. what would are you living in?

terrible idea.

sounds like something that could do as a experiment on another programe would be interesting

i think they bb should never intervene unless something becomes vilolent or intollerable for the housemate. i think they should have freedom to say and air anything. and let the dice roll how they may.
if someone says something dodgy i want to hear it. and i want to hear the reaction to it and any argument it may cause. and plus is will get the press talking big time
bb supresses anything now remotally dodgy. in fact to the point of sillyness. but that kills dead what might of been interesting to watch.

I agree. I think the premise of the OP is a bit too extreme (deliberately casting extreme people / ensuring people will clash) but I do think that BB should just let situations unfold, even when people are being undeniably obscene or racist or whatever, and only intervene if someone is getting violent or someone clearly looks like they feel physically threatened. Contestants should be warned, clearly, that the things they say and the views they express might well make them "hate figures" and that BB won't be cautioning them or warning them to reign it in... if they have offensive opinions, they might be in there spouting them for weeks, and leave to a life in tatters.

They currently protect people (both the contestants, and the viewers) far too much from "offense". It's boring, and there's no need. If you watch it and find it offensive, change the channel... don't "report it to Ofcom" . If you say things that lead to you being hated on exit... well... then that's the consequence of holding those opinions. If you can't handle the opinions of others IN the house, you're free to leave.

So long as the show isn't edited in an unfair way to portray people badly, and is truly representative of events in the house (like the early series were... last couple of years, not so much) then that's the way it should be. Let's see the real people - warts n' all - not completely invented "characters" and people suppressing themselves.
