So... you're a motorcyclist with a Harley? If you are you will probably know someone whose life has been saved by wearing a helmet. Smack your head on the tarmac at 30mph and you're probably going to die. That's your right. Of course some other poor *******er has got to come and scrape you up and explain to your next of kin that you could have lived, but that you wanted to exercise your freedom. A rebel without a clue.

No one's stopping you diving head first off a bridge. It's your right... but you don't do it because it would be irresponsible and stupid. Same goes for not wearing a helmet.

..the thing is that if people cycled on the pavements and knocked a small child over, it could have tragic consequences as well, it doesn't even have to be a small child but just anyone falling in a certain way, so it would almost be that all pedestrians would have to wear helmets as well to be safe...

..I know someone who was in a cycle club and he had all the safety/protectioj but fell and the helmet jolted and he did suffer very severe head injuries..(I think I've mentioned him in the Michael Schumacher thread..)...anyway, yeah, even with safety helmets, severe injuries can still occur but he has made a very good recovery and without that helmet, there is no doubt that he would be dead....

I think there should be more bike paths everywhere tbh... IMO so many more people would actually bike if it wasn't so dangerous car wise.
on average 17 people are killed in the uk each year from being hit by cyclist.

Yes.I think all cyclists should wear a helmet.

Somone may be the best cyclist there is but as with car drivers, you can be one of the best and safest car drivers around but it is the other irresponsible drivers/cyclists that cause the problems and also at times the real fatal accidents too.

I remember watching that doc about cyclists and motorists at war on the streets of London. It was meant to be about the cyclists being victims but a lot came across as tossers. And to the OP, yes.
