You get more money from doing well in America, and gives you a good chance at breaking the Japanese market too as America and Japan are good friends so they trade each others Music.

Really? I can't think of a single Japanese artist that's made it big in the USA in recent years?!

Lots of novelty acts do well in Japan without touching the American market.
