Desperately trying to get some sleep.. But you know sometimes you get it in your head that you can't sleep and you seem to be trying too hard?
I'm sleeping in the hospital tonight and although I've grown accustomed to the strange noises, there's a poor wee baby who's been crying now fir most of the night

Aww are the kids there quite young? I really hate hearing kids upset even though most of them are tough little things, it's a weakness I have.

I'm not really able to sleep either, I've been thinking too much.

Hello Lee and Jess I woke up for a wee and now can't get back to sleep.

I hate when that happens, I fall asleep nicely and then wake up feeling groggy and realising I've only slept for a few hours, half of the time I just ignore the urge to pee and go back to sleep because if I get up and go I wont be able to fall asleep easily again, that's probably really bad for me though.

Yeah, most of the kids are quite young and there's about 3 babies. The one that's crying sounds like he's in pain a lot of the time
There's a really young baby next door to us who's apparently waiting for a transplant.. Of what, I don't know and I'm not sure how desperately, but it's a wee shame

Well I just feel so bad for my niece and nephew because they went outside to play earlier and they saw some kids stabbing a horse with a screw driver, they are traumatized, it took them hours to fall asleep, it makes me want to throw up when I think about it.

Some of the kids were the same age as my niece, one of them was in her school class a few years ago. We have lots of gang crime in our city and unfortunately these kids are the children of those notorious criminals and they know that it was my niece and nephew who saw them so if we reported them it would backfire on us even though not doing anything causes overwhelming guilt it's the safest thing.

I don't know why they did it, my niece told one of them that the horse's leg was bleeding and he laughed and stabbed it in the leg with a screw driver and didn't stop there, I wont continue, it's disgusting. I just feel so guilty..

My nephew is 9 and my niece just turned 11 last month.

The horse could be dead right by my house for all I know. I think my mother will check for him in the morning, I wouldn't be brave enough tbh.. I feel so useless.

..yeah it's that thing Lee when the more you think, ughhh I need sleep and are aware of it, the less sleepy you are because it kind of puts pressure on you to sleep so then you're not relaxed enough for it to come..type thing lol/I wish I could say things in simple terms...

...awww Jess....that's awful for all of you but things aren't always simple and black and white so it's also a self-preservation thing if you feel you can't report it and protecting your niece and nephew as well, there really is no need for guilt at all.....
