So so sad... Such an iconic building and so much work has been destroyed. I know quite a few people who studied there and are devastated.. Not only is the current degree show gone, all the archives and library are too

We'll it was evacuated safely, so I'm assuming there was adequate fire escapes.

Apparently it was caused by an exploding projector in the basement; I don't think Charles Rennie MacKintosh could have planned for such an event

I was walking up Sauchiehall Street at lunch time today and there was smoke everywhere, couldn't breathe properly - could see all the fire engines but wasn't sure what had caught fire until my friend texted me to say... so sad, I had plans to go take the tour with my mum before I graduated in June and now we won't be able to - what a horrible thing to happen, it's one of the most iconic buildings in Glasgow!
