He thought that he was the only person who saw through her and was perhaps doubting himself, but said he felt "comforted" by the crowds reaction because it confirmed to him something that he already felt himself anyways.

That's true, I had forgotton he had said that. I suppose it must be a good feeling to have your thoughts confirmed especially when a lot of people in the house were running around bigging her up.
