..I think it's an ok way Sophiee and often an effective way as well so long as it's said in a calm and low voice and not screamed at that person.....

from personal experience it just makes the other person become more annoyed .

..yeah it's something that we do at school when faced with an angry child and it is often effective when said in a calm voice until they're at the stage where they can listen but I guess also it does depend on the person who is angry etc as well...screaming it at her was a bit ironic though....
