Default Was 2007 the last good year?

Do you think 2007 was the last good year? For me, everything after 2007 has been like a separate era of time. 2007 was like the last year when people weren't reliant on technology ect, we had the last decent music in my opinion in that year, last good Big Brother (Big Brother 8) the summer was absolutely perfect in my opinion. TV was great as well, I loved it.

Opinions?

I thought BB9 was better than 8. The last great BB was 2006.

2007 imo was like the closing year for the late 90s early 00s pop culture era, everything's been kind of different since then

2007 was also the last year before the recession, drastically changing the face of the country from carefree to "Holy **** we gotta save dem pennies"

2008 was the year dance pop/electro pop became fashionable (although it was kinda emerging since 2006). lady gaga and katy perry also debuted and more and more artists started to use autotune (notably kanye). then in 2009 black eyed peas and guetta popularised electro pop even more. eventually everything on the charts was pretty much EDM in 2010/11 and R&B had died. 2008 also saw flo rida and taylor swift become hugely popular and pitbull and drake in 09. all four are among the biggest acts in the world right now.

facebook started to dominate in 2008 and people started to use twitter in 09, both now being a way of life than simply a social network

the recession happened and unemployment figures escalated

Obama was elected president and the western terrorism paranoia began to calm down

2008 was also the year of the smartphone boom

so yeah in that respect things changed A LOT from 2008. whether it was a good or bad change is subjective. I'm guessing you were young during the 00s so you're obviously gonna be more nostalgic about pre-2008 life because it holds better memories for you. those who were adults in the 2000s probably view the 2000s and 2010s as equally **** and miss 80s or 90s life. it's just natural.

Probably 2010 onwards was when things started to go wrong for me 2007 was a pretty good year and 2008 was too then things started to go downhill

Yes, I was young then so I guess I was nostalgic. Everything did kind of change once 2007 ended, like somebody said earlier, 2007 was the last year which still had the 90s/00s vibes going.

Bit of an arbitrary and random point to decide everything changed, all years have their events and are seen differently by different people but theres nothing major really which makes 2007 a watershed
