There's two reasons for why Kimbot's boyfriend attempted to ruin her chances of winning.
1. They may have offered him a lot of money to do it.
2. He plans on breaking up with her when she gets out so is getting revenge on her for what she's doing in the house with Steven.
And an additional 3. A bit of both 1 & 2.
