I'm not sure how much James is playing a game - he has come across as pretty short tempered, intolerant, opinionated and highly competitive as a person generally on tv. He may be trying to contain that to "appear" reasonable and justified in what he is doing and saying, but whether that's actual gameplaying I'm not sure.

Gary is a hugely powerful personality and many of the other guys seem to need to "pit" themselves against him - reminds me a bit of gorillas or is that too Judy James?

James does look determined to try and control the Gary somewhat - but isn't looking like the stronger male here.
