Not afraid to let it down when he wants to - are you for real. He has been afraid to all his life it seems and is only 'man enough' when he thinks there may be some votes in it for him.

Trouble is he is full of his own importance and when others don't seem to agree with his own high opinion of himself he gets defensive and aggressive. He has always felt threatened by Gary and Audley - hence his behaviour towards them. He always goes on the attack with a foul and nasty tirade of verbal abuse and put-downs, usually unprovoked.

Everyone has a sensitive side - but this does, does not justify his behaviour. His feelings of self-importante and the need for attention will always out-do his 'sensitive side'. He is basically a nasty peice of work who is only big enough to admit to his 'sensitive' side when he receives enough votes to keep him in. He is now angling for the sympathy vote.
