An alright episode tonight, wish there was more of a focus on the monsters though, you can kinda tell it was originally a story written for 11 by the pacing.

this was a massive let down imo. Really wish they spent more time on the monsters I was expecting a "Impossible planet" or "waters of mars" type of episode. Maybe they should of made this two parts, with the spiders killing people part one and the whole the moon is an egg crap part two.

I think the lack of double part episodes is showing. The stories feel a little rushed. This story and Time Heist could have made good double part stories and we'd have got more of the actual monsters too.

great episode, love the ones that tear away at the dark side of humanity - reminded me of the episode with the 10th doctor and the space bus and that mimicking monster with Carol from Eastenders being a superbitch.
wasn't here for the whole clara "how could you?!??!?!?!" bit at the end, though

So for some reason, American fans somehow got an "anti-abortion" message from the episode... I mean, I get how it could be thought of as that, but I saw it as more of an 'anti-extinction' message. |

Kill the Moon got near-universal acclaim, I think I'll need to watch again as I didn't think it was that interesting...

This is the show that had Earth stolen from orbit without any major natural disasters happening, not to mention, the Doctor dragging it back into orbit without any disasters. There was also that time that Gallifrey appeared over Earth, again, with no world ending disasters.

Most people seem to be complaining about the creature laying an "egg" that is the same size as itself..
Like...what? Why the hell not? Who cares? For what it's worth - I didn't think Kill the moon was quite as good as the hype suggested. I found the spiders absolutely terrifying, as I knew I would, and I think it should have just been an episode focussing on bringing them down. Mind you, if these things are germs, then it's perfectly possible to bring them back. Hope so.

I thought it was pretty great, not as good as Listen but definitely the second best episode this series. Clara's going strength to strength this season so I hope the rumours of her leaving aren't true especially as they've built up some pretty good characters around her now.

Does it not bother anyone that this episode plays fast and loose with science.
1) it effectively repeats the myth about seeing the Great Wall of China from the Moon. You would only be able to discern street lights from Low Earth Orbit. 2) The Moon is tidally locked and goes round the earth in about 30 days, not a few minutes as was implied by the graphic of the rotating Earth as lights go out. 3) The moon also stabilises the Earth at its 23 degrees off the vertical which gives us the seasons, so an increasing moon mass would do more than mess with the tides. 4) Episode ignores accepted theory for origin of the Moon, namely a glancing blow collision with a planetoid called Thea. This was confirmed by samples brought back by the Apollo missions, backed up by Russian samples.

Since when has Doctor Who stuck to scientific fact? It's called science FICTION for a reason.

The next episode is reminding me of that Agatha Christie episode that David Tennant had.

I wonder if next weeks will at all make reference to the eleventh doctor and the ponds unseen visit to the orient express in space. The night Amy and Rory got married?

The story was begging to be a two-parter though. The spiders could have been part one and the whole moon is an egg thing in part two. Scuppered story

I don't think I could of handled a full episode about spiders. It was bad enough with what we got in the first place. I hate spiders so much.
