..for me Jess, it wouldn't really matter if there were perma-bans or not, because I think this has showed that involvement doesn't have to be active members...people will access these things regardless because they're quite determined in their 'hate' and in making people feel miserable...it's not a decision for me to make but I personally would be reluctant now to reveal anything of any personal nature whatsoever because anything positive is stripped from you by some people and used as a stick to beat you with....

It's just the scale of this that's surprising, and like Braden said, the pack mentality with members who're, well, nobodies really... nobody's gotten the chance to know them, and they've not taken the chance to get to know anyone outside of their circle... I've been aware of it at times as a sort-of on/off victim over the years, because it's all offsite and the glimpses of it on here are obviously quickly hushed up and dealt with... but these are really hateful, angry, judgmental, nasty little people and I pity them, and I can only understate how thrilled I am that it's being realised.

..I've really struggled with this as you know and feeling that people involved in this are really quite sad and unhappy in their own lives and maybe some empathy should be shown...but what I can't ignore is how many people who have been hurt through this and not only by hateful words, which really can't hurt us unless we allow them to ...and also with Josy and I and anyone else whose personal pics and info was taken and used in such hateful ways...how that could actually impact on our 'real lives'...and how would any of them feel if the same was done to them...?...and these are people who when SD threads are made about internet trolls and hate trolls etc...who post their distaste of such things...I spend far too much time over-thinking stuff and trying to make sense of it but sometimes I think it's just the acceptance that their are people of just really bad character and there is no 'reasons'....

Yes there are definitely a couple of them that were actually decent members that just got sucked into a nasty group and just joined in to try and fit in with them which is a shame but maybe they will learn from it.
