Fleur East has apologised to Mark Ronson after the release of his new single 'Uptown Funk' had to be brought forward.

East shot to number one on iTunes with her version of the song on The X Factor this weekend, which prompted the music producer to release the song five weeks early.

Speaking to Newsbeat, 26-year-old East said: "Yeah I'm really sorry, but all I can say is it's props to all their creative hard work because it's an amazing song.

"I think straight away they were like, 'Oh wow, what's happened here?' So they had to speed up the release date."

She also added that if 'Uptown Funk' were to become the Christmas number 1, she would rather it was Ronson's version.

"It would be a shame in many ways, obviously because it was their song and they created it, it would only be right that theirs got to number one," she added.

The Ronson version is sung by Bruno Mars and was previously due to be released in the UK on 11 January.

'Uptown Funk' serves as the first single to be lifted from Ronson's new album Uptown Special, which is released on January 26.

It is the producer's first album in four years, and follows 2010's Record Collection, which peaked at number two in the UK.

the time some artists take to release a single is pretty daft, really, I mean he was planning to do it in 2015... after performing the bloody song on SNL?

Musicians (and, more specifically, labels) have no business in waiting 3 months between us first hearing a song on radio and it going on sale. It's just ****ing idiotic.

Are you on about the looks thread? Finding Fleur and Steph attractive doesn't mean that I have to like them as singers, and the Chocolate Delight comment I can understand why people might take that offensively but it was my OTT way of saying that Steph was attractive.

And race does seem to be a big issue on Reality shows, on BB if you're a black girl you're hated no matter how the individual behaves, and if you're a pretty white girl on TXF they get the boring tag no matter how good or bad they maybe.

It bothers me, I know that it makes me look like a racist or whatever you think that I am, but when I notice a pattern appearing I will try to stop it if I feel that it's prejudicial.

I think it all comes down to the production, BB's production seems to not like black girls very much so they edit them a certain way to make the public not like them, and Simon clearly has it in for young pretty white girls, they always get early time slots, branded boring at some point, great song choices to begin with but they turn horrible towards the end.

Also it's quite convenient that the only white female winner we have had was unattractive, a bit chubby, sung all TXF cliched song choices, and was not in the girls category so the teenage girls could connect with her more, and the older women could as well as she was someone from their age group.

Ella Henderson and Cher Lloyd have done well after the show, that makes your point invalid.

If I were you I'd just stop trying to make excuses for why she is out. The simple reason is, she had the 4th biggest fanbase out of all the contestants, hence why she finished 4th (which is pretty good).

I think she landed on her feet having Simon as a mentor, it's the staging, the promotion, the styling, the positioning and the stealing of other peoples hits that have thrust her into pole position.

I love Fleur to bits. But I think it was a little bit in her favour at the weekend. I think the unplugged theme was pulled just so she could sing that particular song. If you think of the other 3 acts song choices they fit the unplugged theme and were the songs that they were going to do. It was just changed simply for Fleur. That said she did brilliantly and I would like to see her or Ben go on to win
