I'd like a doctir who keeps my medical details between me and him. A doctor who has a straight face.

Also my doctor looks like Susan Boyle.

With all the respect to your nan, really the doctor is there to see you.

Actually, the doctor was in the wrong. By sharing the fact you had an injury, she is opening the door to questions such as, how did you hurt your leg, what where you doing, why were you doing that etc by the other person(s) Also, if shared with him, who else has she shared it with, a well meaning manufacturer of knee supports etc ... its a slippery slope. A patients details are either confidential, or they are not, and a doctor should know better.

As to the hugging, like was said, unless a close personal friend, in which case she shouldn't be your doctor, it is completely inappropriate.

Sounds like a good old fashioned family GP to me.

If our doctor asks me how hubby is that's fine..takes about 30 seconds of my allotted time.
My lovely Kiwi doctor used to give me loads of hugs before she went back to NZ.
Very caring young lady.
I am all for getting patient/doctor friendly banter going, puts you at ease.

Would you be complaining if she looked like Kate Beckinsale Gusto?
