I don't think penalties is a way forward.
This is unlikely to happen but it could possibly be that someone nominates 15 members but none get through to the 50, although the person who nommed them does.
It is not inconceivable therefore for there to be only a few or even no one that person would wish to vote for as 'most loved'.

Also people could be offline for lots of reasons,personal issues, illness away on holiday,whatever.

Even at this time of year this was held,and again massive thanks to Ben for doing it since it would be very sad to see this drift off into oblivion.
As I was saying even at this time of year, the most loved thread was always in the main column of active threads so it captured a lot of attention and was there for all to see on a daily basis.

I myself was away for Christmas and made sure I got my noms done and the votes in the 2nd round too, despite a really hectic schedule for myself.

The thing is, this event is there for those who wish to participate,you can nominate if you want to or not, you can then vote for 10 of the final 50, if you want to not.
You can opt out of it if you wish but still have a vote or nominate if you want.

It is one of the most inclusive least conditioned event on tibb and I hope it stays that way.

It was not done at its usual time of late October/November this time.
Then thankfully Ben, when he had the time,and it will be a heavily time consuming project,,took it on, saved it and did a great job of it too.

I am sure Ben will look at , if asked in an appreciative way, to look at setting it again for 2 periods of the year mid to near end of the year for the future times he presents it.

Even, however in the past most loved polls, there have been people wishing they possibly had taken part, people who likely had been away then and not come across it, so it is swings and roundabouts.

Perhaps and just perhaps,if Ben or someone had the time to, once the nomination process was over,it could be that some people may not even know they were nominated at all and got through to the final round of the 50.
perhaps then, a gentle reminder or notification,(no pressure or penalties), to them saying they had been nominated for the final 50 in the most loved poll, would they like to take part,could be sent out around 3-5 days before the close of the voting.

However, it has gone superbly under Zee and I have to say under Ben too for this one just finished.
More interference and more conditions in the process is not needed,this is a successful event, it is one I have enjoyed immensely from joining tibb, whether I am nominated, in the 50 or out the 50.
It is a success, please lets keep it that way.
